In March 2011, I joined the UT Arlington team as the General Manager of the College Park Center, opening the new 7,000-seat arena on the University campus in February 2012. The $78 million College Park Center, a transformational jewel for the campus of nearly 34,000 students and a catalyst for revitalization in the City of Arlington's downtown business district, is the home court for the University's basketball and volleyball teams and gives the city a signature facility for world-class concerts, sporting competitions, conferences and community events.
Prior to joining UTA, I was a Sr. Event Coordinator at the Dallas Convention Center, and worked with many of the high profile shows that came to Dallas. A couple highlights include the 2010 PCMA Conference, 2010 WINDPOWER Show and Exposition and the 2011 NFL Experience. I also worked at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas, as the Event Services Manager and began my career with Texas A&M University-Commerce, planning and overseeing events and festivals for the campus community.
Outside of the “real” job, I have a passion for scuba diving, and have been teaching the sport for over seven years. The palm tree in my office is my little on-the-job escape to islands. And when I’m not diving, you might find me enjoying the open highways of Texas on two wheels, or on the mission field in east Africa with a group from my church.
