UTA Special Event Facilities

Bio

In March 2011, I joined the UT Arlington team as the General Manager of the College Park Center, opening the new 7,000-seat arena on the University campus in February 2012. The $78 million College Park Center, has been a transformational jewel for the campus of nearly 58,000 global students and a catalyst for revitalization in the City of Arlington's downtown business district.  The CPC is the home court for the University's basketball and volleyball teams, home of the WNBA Dallas Wings, and it gives the city a signature facility for world-class concerts, sporting competitions, conferences and community events.

In September 2018, I took over the leadership of our department as the Executive Director of Special Event Facilities for the University of Texas at Arlington.  In this capacity, I oversee the College Park Center, as well as Texas Hall, our 2,600-seat performing arts center, and our campus-wide box office operation, UTAtickets.com.

Prior to joining UTA, I was a Sr. Event Coordinator at the Dallas Convention Center, and worked with many of the high profile shows that came to Dallas. A couple highlights include the 2010 PCMA Conference, 2010 WINDPOWER Show and Exposition and the 2011 NFL Experience. I also worked at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas, as the Event Services Manager and began my career with Texas A&M University-Commerce, planning and overseeing events and festivals for the campus community.

Outside of the “real” job, I have a passion for scuba diving, and have been teaching the sport for over ten years. The palm tree in my office is my little on-the-job escape to islands. I enjoy escapes to the islands whenever I can fit those in.  But more often these days, you'll find me chasing our little one (Ellie) around the house or backyard.
