you aware of the workplace lactation accommodations that were enacted
with the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)? Do you

solution? What are the current best practices?
Qena
McCarty is a woman entrepreneur participant in the Texas State
University RampCorp Program. Qena partnered with GSC Architects to
develop best practice lactation room designs (and products) for
workplace and public facilities needing to comply with the 2010 Patient
Protection and Affordable Care Act.
GSC Architects and Aqena, Inc. will host meetings at the GSC office on two days:

Light refreshments will be served.
The
purpose of the meetings is to discuss compliance issues and industry
solutions for lactation accommodation in facilities. Other presenters
will be the State Breastfeeding Coordinator and the Mother’s Milk Bank
to discuss workplace lactation programs and employed mother milk donors
that pump at work facilities.
The presentation will cover
the following: legal requirements, who is affected, benefits, potential
solutions, and market research on best practices. Attendees will view
prototypes of the Lactette, a patent-pending commercial building product
being developed for sanitary, efficient, and compliant lactation rooms.
They will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive
Q&A session to provide feedback on the prototypes and best practice
solutions.
