Michael Enoch, Mike Cerha Take Positions In China

AEG China announced two executive appointments for AEG Facilities-operated venues in Shanghai and Dalian, China; industry veteran Michael Enoch will be the new general manager of the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai and Mike Cerha is the new general manager for the Dalian China National Games Arena.

Effective November 12, Enoch will take over as GM of the 18,000-seat multi-purpose venue in Shanghai. In just two years, the Mercedes-Benz Arena has hosted some of the world’s most elite events and tours since it opened in January 2011.

“Michael possesses a wealth of experience and industry knowledge,” said President and CEO of AEG China John Cappo. “He is a proven leader at international venues all over the world and the perfect person to guide the team at the Mercedes-Benz Arena and take it to the next level.”

With more than 35 years of experiences in the sports, convention, casino and entertainment business, Enoch has held many roles in the public assembly industry in facility management, construction, maintenance, operations, booking, marketing, promotions and technical production. He comes to AEG China with prior stints at Orlando, Florida’s Amway Center, the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore., the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok and Las Vegas’ Thomas & Mack Center.

Michael Cerha has been appointed at the General Manager of the 18,000-seat Dalian China National Games Arena. Host of the 2013 China National Games next August, arena construction is expected to be completed in the Spring.

Cappo added, “Mike is incredibly passionate about facilities, very experienced, and coupled with his adventurous spirit and determination, he is just the person we need to lead this lead this new project.”

Most recently, Cerha was the Senior Director of Event Operations, working for the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum for the last nine years. Cerha will oversee the final stages of construction, plus the recruitment, training, development and management of the arena staff in Northeast China’s newest state-of-the sports and entertainment venue.
