Conference Welcome: Buddy Dyer, Mayor of Orlando

Elected Mayor in 2003, Buddy Dyer has led Orlando through an unprecedented growth and redevelopment of downtown, towards the City's destination as one of America's great cities.

Mayor Dyer, a native of Central Florida, served in the Florida Senate, and has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1986. He served as Editor in Chief of the University of Florida Law Review.

Recognized this year as the National Municipal Leader of the Year, Mayor Dyer has achieved virtually every goal he set for this community, including the new Amway Center, the performing arts center, which just broke ground, securing SunRail, and leading a 40% reduction in crime, while securing for our fire department an ISO rating of 1, a distinction held by only 60 fire departments out of half a million in the United States.

The City of Orlando and the Amway Center are proud to call him one of their own.

Terry Butler Town Halls

For many years our friend Terry Butler moderated a Town Hall session at AMC. Terry made it clear that if discussion waned, he would force everyone to talk about the current plight of his favorite sports team: the New York Yankees! Needless to say, we always managed to stay on topic. In his memory we have christened this year's sessions the "Terry Butler Town Halls".

What's the buzz in the industry? The Town Hall sessions are the place to find out. Break out into Large, Small and University Arenas. A new twist this year: following the separate sessions, we will come together to raise a Miller Lite to Terry, and the Dynamic Duo of Brenda Tinnen and Kim Bedier will facilitate a lively review of the discussions and take home ideas.
