Centerplate announced the promotion of industry veteran and executive vice president of new business development Chris Verros to the newly created post of chief operating officer, effective immediately.
Verros, who has held senior leadership positions with many of the industry’s best-known food and beverage providers over his 25-year career, was most recently the president of Boston Culinary Group’s premium services division. Prior to that, he was the president of Fine Host’s recreation and leisure services as well as the executive vice president of FanFare.
Over the course of his career, he has held a variety of operations positions and has garnered respect as an effective hospitality manager. Verros served on the board of directors of the National Association of Concessionaires, and has also been an allied member of IAAM since 1993.
“We are a results-based and relationship-driven company, and I feel confident that under Chris’s leadership, our combined efforts will deliver on this mandate,” wrote Des Hague, chief executive officer of Centerplate, in a letter to employees regarding the announcement. “Chris is one of the most respected and experienced leaders in our industry; he is the ideal candidate to direct our continued and enhanced success.”
