Bio

Allan C. Vella is the General Manager of The Fox Theatre of Atlanta, Georgia, a position he has held since June 2006.

Allan is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a BA in Liberal Arts and Arts Management. While at Iowa, Vella served as the Director of the Student Commission on Programming and Entertainment.

Allan has worked professionally in the Facility Management field for the past 25 years managing Theatres, Arenas, Amphitheatres and Exhibition facilities. His experience ranges from hosting Luciano Pavarotti to Elton John, NCAA Tournaments to professional wrestling, Presidential visits to Ballet, Corporate Events to Broadway, and Katrina refugees to Hurricane Rita recovery efforts.

Prior to joining the Fox, Allan worked for SMG, the world’s largest facility management company.

His positions included General Manager of Ford Park in Beaumont, Texas where he operated a 227 acre facility consisting of a 16,000 seat amphitheater, 10,000 seat arena, a exhibit hall, and a State Fair Grounds.

Vella’s first assignment with SMG was at the Dow Event Center, in Saginaw, Michigan, where Allan over saw the securing of Naming Rights, privatization, renovation and operation of a 7,200 seat arena, 2,300 seat theater.



Prior to joining SMG, Allan worked for, Olympia Entertainment in Detroit, Michigan, where he worked for thirteen years. He held numerous positions, including:
• Production and Event booking, at Joe Louis and Cobo arenas
• Executive Director of the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, New York
• Director of Merchandising for the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Zoo and parent company Little Caesars Pizza
• Senior Director and General Manager of The Fox Theatre, Detroit

Allan is a Member of the:
• International Association of Assembly Managers,
• Board Member of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau
• Member of the Broadway League and serves on the Intra-Industry Council.
• Board member of Variety of Georgia, children’s charity


Allan is responsible for overseeing the entire operation of the theatre as well as the booking of events. The theatre averages 300 performances a year and hosts over 750,000 guests annually.

Allan and his wife Nicole have three children and reside in Decatur Georgia
